Councilmember Tracy Jensen has already done extraordinary things for the people of Alameda. Imagine what she could do as our next Mayor:

  • On the Alameda City Council, Tracy Jensen:
    • Helped secure construction of the Alameda Aquatic Center, built without tax subsidies.
    • Was the deciding vote to bring new biotech and environmental startups to Alameda, creating good jobs for Alameda residents while expanding our tax base to support vital services.
    • Introduced legislation to establish Alameda's first red light cameras to ticket drivers at high risk intersections.
    • Was the first Alameda City Council member to be elected as the chair of the Alameda County Waste Management Authority and the StopWaste Recycling Board.
    • State-level advocate as a member of the California League of Cities Environmental Quality Policy Committee and Community Services Policy Committee.
  • On the Alameda Unified School District Board, Tracy Jensen:
    • Directed Bayport housing developers to pay for a new elementary school available to all students on the West End.
    • Passed a bond to build Alameda’s first new elementary school in 30 years.
    • Partnered with Mayor Beverly Johnson and Supervisor Alice Lai Bitker to gain recognition of Alameda as one of America's Promise Alliance's “100 Best Communities for Youth”. 
    • Led development and implementation of the East Bay’s first curricula to reduce bullying by giving students positive LGBTQ+ role models.
  • On the Alameda Health Care District Board, Tracy Jensen:
    • Negotiated a long-term management agreement to ensure Alameda residents’ access to acute, ancillary and emergency healthcare.
    • Partnered with Assemblymember Mia Bonta to ensure that Alameda Hospital seismic upgrades were completed so that the Hospital would remain open.
    • Helped establish the Community Paramedic Program, connecting Alameda seniors without a primary physician to Alameda firefighters with medical training.
    • Improved senior and youth access to nutrition and physical activity.
  • As a community advocate, Tracy Jensen:
    • Helped implement stronger protections for renters and increased affordable housing options.
    • Recognized on International Women’s Day 2021 for outstanding contributions to Alameda by then-Assemblymember Rob Bonta.
    • Led the Oakland Senior Needs Assessment project to identify and address the unmet needs of Oakland’s diverse senior residents.
